Update: The chat is now updating itself without you needing to post a message. There are still some issues with the domain name, which may take a few days to resolve.
As was expected, dispite rigerous testing the chat room is still a little buggy. If you want to see updates in a chat window, you need to send a message. Hopefully I will have a fix for this soon.
With over 9000 spammers on the old rasman.net system, I have decided to ask everybody to re-register. This should be quick, painless, and totally worth it. Send me an email if you are having trouble rasman (at) gmail.com
You might also notice a stand-in URL - this is temorary until the DNS servers catch up with the changes.

Fellow Traders,
After 2 years, and plenty of time staring at code, its time for an upgrade to rasman.net - The home of the best online Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) Live Chat.
This is a major revision of the whole site, which has been built from the ground up. No code from the old site has been re-used, and I have put my focus on creating new functionality, and improving on the way things used to work.
I have also decided to cater to both "Trusted" chatters, and everybody else. In the past there has been a pretty rigorous grilling of any new members and this is going to change. The way things work now, you will climb the trust tree, with plenty of opportunities to get a good reputation for yourself.
The chat is using “AJAX” which means no more nasty refreshing. It is completely smooth and in terms of web based chat, very slick. I have re-added smilies, but colours are presented to you automatically which does mean you can’t choose your own colours anymore.
There are now two chat rooms available to everyone. “General ASX Chat” and “Unmoderated Chat” – General ASX Chat is for people who have earned some level of trust, while Unmoderated Chat is available to those who don’t meet the criteria of my long time moderator “geroanyday” – I know hes sometimes very strict, but there are serious concerns in this business and users need to be as transparent as possible. The heavy handed approach is to protect you, and other users.
In the future there will also be a closed chat to which you can gain access by invite only.
